This black painted terra cotta head shows Buddha during a meditation. The pattern of his hair with spiraling conical forms and the lengthened ear lobes resulting from wearing heavy earrings as a Shakya prince and elongated neck make it peculiar. A tika, an unusual feature, is also seen on his forehead and his eyes are Mongolian in form.
