Ornate chests have been in use in the East for many centuries. This chest, with a floral motif, is of recent make and is smaller in size. Featuring beautifully carved flowers and leaves on the top, the sides, and the legs, the chest is used to hold smaller items, such as jewelry, manuscripts, and keys.
