Garuda is a half human, half bird form and is the mount of Lord Vishnu. His nose is in the shape of a bird's beak, his wide span of wings, and his scaly legs are his characteristic features. The eyebrows and wings have simple decorations. His thick brows and swollen cheeks illustrate the features of a bird. In his talons he is holding two serpents.
