Each of the four quarters result in definite
outputs such as photographs of exhibition
quality and a group show; a book of
stories or poems; an art publication or
exhibition; a music CD. Not only are
children challenged in the arts, those that
do not communicate are supported and
are expected to be able to become more
interactive, those who are aggressive are
counseled, those who are extroverts are
encouraged to become more aware as to
their statements: all children benefit.
Children visit temple complexes, hike in
the hills, go to the riverside, work with
hospital patients, and they come up with
creations based on real life experiences.
Association means that they will meet
artists and writers and photographers and
become associated with an atmosphere
that is fun and knowledge and arts oriented. Over the year, the wards take on a steady
grasp of new learning, strangers turn into friends, and they are attuned to the ways of
adopting explorative and experimental exercises. Annual Association allows SB
instructors to monitor the progress of the ward closely.
The yearly association with SB’s Arts Clubs heightens the ward’s senses towards
looking beyond physical and mental environments and encourages awareness and
appreciation of much that is interesting, exciting, and needful. Interacting with
established creators and learning about their life and work gives a fresh perspective on
“qualitative and quantitative” outputs. Likewise, spending time with people at risk
opens a new world for the wards and enhances their understanding of other people’s
dreams and needs. Visits to the museums; galleries; historical, cultural, and natural
sites; give way to diverse learning and fun opportunities. Studio art supports technical
learning. |
