Chairman
of the Raj Parishad (The State Council) Dr. Keshar Jung Rayamajhi
launched a collection of writer’s biographies and creations Pen
and Ink as well as poet Usha Sherchan’s Unexpected
Wounds on Saturday.
Dr.
Rayamajhi said that language formed a barrier for those who did
not understand Nepali and that Pen and Ink had done a praiseworthy job of presenting the lives of
Nepalese creators and their creations in English. Since writers
and creators represent a society, they are always honorable, he
said.
International
Pen Nepal Chapter chairperson Greta Rana speaking on the occasion
said that the publication intended to present Nepalese artists and
writers internationally. The publication contains the works of Bhuwan
Dhungana, Iswar Ballav, Madhav Ghimmire, Bhaupanthi, etc.
During
the program poet Usha Sherchan and Head of Social Studies, St. Xavier’s
College, Charles Law read out their poems. The program was held
at the Spiny Babbler premises located in the quiet Sanepa area.
Attractive abstract art was hung from the walls and musicians Jeevan
Ale and Biru Kamal Shrestha played the flute and tabala during
the occasion. |
