Poetry Festival Concludes

Kathmandu, March 31: Spiny Babbler nationwide poetry festival concluded today at the Spiny Babbler premises in Kupondole amid a ceremony. Navin Chitrakar, Chairman of Nepal Bhasa Kabita Munch said that he was pleased to know that many young people wrote poetry in English well and felt that there was a need for young poets to receive encouragement and critical feedback regarding their work.

During the ceremony, different young poets recited their poems. During the festival period, three poetry readings for established poets, new generation poets, and upcoming poets writing in Nepali as well as English had taken place in Kathmandu. In Pokhara, poetry readings for tourists and established poets took place on March 25 and 26 and respectively.

A poetry recital programme was also held in Narayanghat and Dharan on March 29 and 31 respectively and two poetry recitals were held in Darjeeling on February 27 and March 24. Discussions, interactions and data collection took place during the festival.
