PIN
Nepal was established in 1992. Girls exposed to
social, economic, or sexual abuse were identified
as primary focus groups. The immediate need for
a shelter house for girls facing risk was achieved
the same year and a process involving the guardians
and parents of girls at risk was initiated.
PIN Nepal believes that the responsibility of
taking care of girls at risk ultimately belongs
to their parents and guardians and they are in
the best position to give love and care to girls
at risk. The organization attempts to reunited
the girls with their families if that is possible
and safe. Since its establishment in Nepal approximately
eight hundred girls have received the organization's
support through which they learn to express themselves
and apply creative thinking to tehir everyday
lives. This process has a strong psychological
effect on the children as they open their minds
to new possibilities, helping them cope with their
typically terrible pasts. Spiny Babbler has run
art, music, and literature classes at PIN Nepal.
Children learn to draw, their show their skills
in making music and dancing, and they listen to
and read out stories.
PIN Nepal is supported by German Nepal Help Association,
