The
Cultured Tourist Program
LAUNCHING
PROGRAM |

| The
Cultured Tourist Sector within the multi-national
involvement program was launched by the chief executive
officer of Nepal Tourism Board on October 8, 2001.
Special guests Mr. Harihar Sharma, general manager
of the leading performing arts organization. Sanskritik
Sangsthan, represented Nepalese theatre as Mr. Bibhu
Ghimmire, chairman of Nepal's most prominent publication
and literature publication house, Sajha Prakashan,
represented the writer and Mr. Sashi Shah, principal
of arts college and a prominent artist, represented
artists. Also Mr. Sameer Khanna, general manager
of Hotel De L'Annpurna represented the hospitality
industry and Nati Kaji, an icon of Nepalese music
was to have represented Nepal music, however, his
health prevented him from attending the program
that day.Dance
and music was featured at the program by the Jyapu
community of Patan, "Muna Madan" was staged
as a play in English, monologues, launching of a
book of art as well as a stonework exhibition covered
the areas that Spiny Babbler presents in its regular
programs. More than 100 visitors enjoyed the event
held at Hotel De L'Annapurna's Arch Hall from 6
to 8 pm. |
