“Twenty-five
members from our group attended the launch of
“My Taudaha” and enjoyed it a lot.
Messages regarding the conservation of the lake
and the importance of biodiversityconservation
and fresh water ecosystems was well presented
through puppetry presentations, plays, and poems.
We are very interested in being a part of this
program and providing assistance to Spiny Babbler.”

“I
enjoyed “Mero Taudaha”. After the
program, I was able to learn that the release
of wrong plants and aquatic life can imbalance
the water ecosystem in the lake. I also learned
that due to lack of proper knowledge important
aquatic plants were being removed from the lake.
I think TEMLP will educate the people to identify
plants that are harmful and useful.”

“The
play performed by the Taudaha Youth Club was
excellent and appreciated by everyone. Overall,
I feel that the program was able to generate
awareness, to a large extent, on why it is important
for us to work with biodiversity conservation
and freshwater ecosystems in Nepal. This sort
of awareness generation program is essential
in Taudaha.”

“Through
the play I was able to learn a lot about the
origin of the lake and Karkotak Nagraja and
Nagrani (the King and Queen of Serpents). “My
Taudaha” has provided me with an opportunity
to learn more about biodiversity conservation,
freshwater ecosystems, and about birds visiting
from Siberia. I think this is the first time
that an arts program like this has been conducted
here and I look forward to attending more arts
events in the future.”

“I
think more than 50% of the audience during the
arts event was able to learn a lot about the importance
of conserving Taudaha as a wetland area. Through
songs, poems, and the play the local populace
was able to know why we need to keep the lake
area clean and its water sources pollution free.”
